Change of contracting party

Services can be transferred to a new contracting party at any time. The existing contracting party must give their consent.

Invoices already issued cannot be changed retrospectively. The change applies to all future invoices.

Please also complete the following steps:

  • If they have not already done so, the new contracting party must register as a new customer in the online shop.
  • The existing contracting party must agree to release the domain or web hosting account, including its content, to the new contracting party.
  • By signing the form, the new contracting party agrees to take over future billing and all associated rights and obligations.

A change of contracting party does not change the domain holder. Changing domain ownership is a separate process. If you have any questions, please contact our support team.

Domain cancellation / auth code request

A domain may be cancelled at any time, but only by its holder. Cancellation must be in writing and signed personally or on behalf of the company. The registries do not accept cancellation by email.

Notice periods and outstanding payments

Cancellation must be received no later than six weeks (42 days) before the current service period ends. You can find the service period on your invoice or in the online customer area. If cancellation arrives too late, a new service period must be billed. Unpaid invoices from earlier service periods remain due after cancellation or deletion of the domain.

When cancellation takes effect

A domain can be cancelled with effect from the end of the current service period. On that date, the domain is blocked and stops working. After this suspension period of approximately eight weeks, the registry makes it available for registration again.

Effects of cancellation

Cancelling your domain only affects that domain. It does not cancel other internet services you use, such as server housing or web space. Websites, email and other services using the cancelled domain will stop working. This also applies to its subdomains.

Web hosting cancellation

A hosting plan may be cancelled at any time. The contracting party must give written notice, signed personally or on behalf of the company.

Notice periods and outstanding payments

Cancellation must be received no later than six weeks before the current service period ends. You can find the service period on your invoice or in the online customer area. If cancellation arrives too late, a new service period must be billed. Earlier unpaid invoices remain due after cancellation.

When cancellation takes effect and what happens

A hosting plan can be cancelled with effect from the end of its service period. On that date, the web space, websites, email addresses and any databases it contains are deleted and stop working.

Cancelling a hosting plan only cancels that plan. Associated domains remain registered.

Server product cancellation

The contracting party may cancel server products and colocation at the end of the agreed minimum contract term by giving six weeks’ notice. Cancellation must be in writing and signed personally or on behalf of the company. Cancellation by email is not accepted.
